Home Health Aide/Homemaker

  •  Assists veterans at home with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Supports veterans in maintaining independence and living in their homes.
  • Offers flexible scheduling based on the veteran's needs.
  • Available to all enrolled veterans with ADL needs.

Respite Care

  •  Offers temporary relief for family caregivers, allowing time for personal needs, errands, or travel.
  • Reduces caregiver stress and supports the well-being of both veterans and their families.
  • Available to all enrolled veterans with ADL needs.

Veteran Directed Care

Home Health Aide/Homemaker

Veteran Directed Care

  •  Empowers veterans to manage their own care with greater flexibility and control over the services they receive.
  • This program empowers Veterans to:
    • Make decisions about their care plans.
    • Hire caregivers of their choice.
    • Tailor their care to meet individual needs and preferences.

Aid and Attendance Pension

 Additional monetary benefit for eligible wartime veterans and surviving spouses needing extra care due to disability or advanced age. (Income based)

Eligibility Service Dates

  • World War II - December 7, 1941 through December 31, 1946
  • Korean Conflict - June 27, 1950 through January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam Era - August 5, 1964 through May 7, 1975
  • Veterans who served in the Republic of Vietnam between 11/1/55 – 8/4/64 are eligible.
  • American Merchant Marines - December 7, 1941 through August 15, 1945
  • Gulf War - August 2, 1990, through a future date to be set by law or presidential proclamation.


Benefit amounts (paying for care)

  • Surviving Spouse $1,478
  • Single Veteran $2,300
  • Married Veteran (spouse needs care) $1,806
  • Married Veteran (with care needs) $2,727


*Actual benefit amount determined by the VA based on eligibility.
